GOD
IS GOOD!

We are so blessed here at GC Kids that we get to host our very first Kids Camp! Camp is a great way for children to disconnect from the chaos of life for a bit and meet new friends, do some fun activities, and learn and experience God in new ways! We want each child that leaves camp to come away refreshed, renewed, and closer to the Lord!

  • When is Kids Camp?
Camp will be August 4th through 8th. More details about drop off and pick up will be shared with parents when we get closer to camp.
  • How much is Kids Camp?
The cost of camp for each camper is $350. This fee covers lodging, meals, snacks, and activities during camp. Please note that each camper (including campers seeking financial support through our scholarship opportunity) must pay a $50 non-refundable deposit to secure their place in camp.
  • Is there a scholarship available to help my family pay for camp?
Yes! We are actively collecting donations from our church and community members to provide financial assistance to families that need it to get their kids to camp. To apply, families must complete the scholarship form and include it with all other required forms when submitting to Grace Chapel. Please note that scholarship award amounts are assessed based on individual need (not first come, first served) and based on funds available for the scholarship. The required, non-refundable deposit for each camper is not eligible to be covered by the scholarship opportunity.
  • Where is Kids Camp located?
Kids Camp 2024 will be held with our good friends at YMCA Camp Hanes: YMCA Camp Hanes 1225 Camp Hanes Rd, King, NC 27021
  • Who can attend Kids Camp?
Our camp is open to all children that are rising third through rising eighth graders going into the 2024-2025 school year.
  • What is the deadline to apply?
The deadline to get your campers signed up for Kids Camp is July 21st, 2024. Be sure to get your applications in quickly because we have limited capacity and admission to camp is on a first come, first served basis.
  • Is this a day camp?
No, Kids Camp is an overnight camp. Our experience has shown us that our campers get the most out of camp when distractions like social media, television, and other things are removed from the equation. This approach allows campers to really get to know and fellowship with other campers, receive the Gospel uninterrupted, and experience the fullness of God's love through our amazing leaders, activities, and times of chapel and worship.
  • Will there be baptism at camp?
Details on what baptism will look like are still being planned. However, the purpose of camp is for your campers to experience God and know what His Son Jesus did for all of us on the cross. Your camper will be ministered to during camp, so it is possible that your camper will come to know and accept Christ as Lord and Savior and want to profess their faith by being baptized. Please be sure to indicate on your camper's application whether you permit your camper to participate in baptism during camp.
  • What kind of activities will there be at camp?
Kids Camp is fille with many different activities, some of which are age-specific. Some activities we have at camp are: morning chapel evening message and worship banana slide (big water slide into the lake) zip lining mountain hiking canoeing and/or paddle boarding the infamous "blob" (age specific) swimming in the pool v-swing messy twister gaga ball and many, many more fun and exciting activities
  • Are there details on what we should pack, prohibited items, etc. that we should be aware of?
Prohibited items and camper expectations are outlined in the Kids Camp Application form. When we get closer to camp, all parents of campers will receive a packet of information with more information and details about camp.
  • My child takes medications for a medical condition, how will this be managed?
We have a strict policy for campers and medications. All medications must be listed, along with dosing information and interval to be administered, on their camp form. Campers are NOT permitted to have medications on their person or in their belongings while at camp, including over-the-counter (OTC) medications or supplements. Adult leaders will carry campers' prescribed EPI pens and/or emergency inhalers and will have a trained volunteer medical team at camp around the clock that will administer daily medications as well as provide first-aid in the event they injure themselves during camp or are feeling unwell. For more serious illnesses or injuries, we will notify parents immediately and seek the required medical treatment for your camper.
  • I don't have children going to camp, but I would like to donate to the scholarship. How do I do that?
Firstly, thank you for your heart to support Kids Camp! Donations can be made to the Kids Camp scholarship in the same way you would tithe to Grace Chapel. For cash donations: Please place cash your donation into a sealed envelope with your name, address, and phone number written on the envelope. Please also write on the envelope "FOR KIDS CAMP SCHOLARSHIP" For check donations: Please write the check to Grace Chapel and write "FOR KIDS CAMP SCHOLARSHIP" in the note section of your check. All donations made to the scholarship are tax-deductible just like normal giving. However, if you indicate that you want your donation to be applied to specific recipients (e.g. a child, children, or a family), your donation is not tax-deductible.
  • What are JCs?
JC's, or Junior Counselors, are high school aged volunteers that love Jesus and assist adult leaders during camp. JC's are vitally important to camp because they often serve as someone our campers can look up to (and they are often about on the same energy level as our campers). If you have a Jesus-loving high schooler that would love to show God's love and help out during camp, please have them fill out a Junior Counselor application!
